A CHARITY ball in aid of York Rescue Boat has helped raise more than £5,000 for the service.
York Trusted Professionals held their second Annual Christmas Charity Ball in December at the Novotel in the city, with more than 135 guests, live music, three course meal, disco, raffle and silent auction hosted by Dougie Weake, from Vale Radio.
The money raised will help train more volunteers, and help pay for the upkeep of their vehicles, including the river patrol boat.
Ian Dawson, founder of York Trusted Professionals, a local business networking organisation, said: “The whole evening was a great success and I want to thank all involved.”
