NORTH Yorkshire has been chosen to form part of the 40th anniversary tour of BBC One's much-loved Antiques Roadshow.

The forthcoming series will be visiting Castle Howard on Thursday, July 13 as it celebrates four decades of valuing treasures.

Rachel Underwood, marketing manager for the stately home, said: "We have discovered our own share of treasures at Castle Howard over the years - including a Michaelangelo drawing, unrecognised for 250 years which was found the year after the last Antiques Roadshow visit. We understand the excitement of those who will be bringing their items along to Castle Howard on 13 July 2017 in the hope that at least one of them is revealed to be a genuine treasure!"

Presenter Fiona Bruce announced the 2017 venues in a special Antiques Roadshow looking back at the highlights of 2016, and updating stories from the year.

Aside from the special one-off recording on Albert Square, everyone is welcome to bring their treasures to Antiques Roadshow filming.

Entry is free and no pre-registration, tickets or appointments are required, visitors can just turn up on the day. More details on attending Antiques Roadshow are at www.bbc.co.uk/antiquesroadshow To register large or heavy items or to contact the programme go to the Share Your Story page.
