THE Ministry of Defence has praised North Yorkshire County Council for helping former members of the armed services.
The authority has been awarded the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme for employing former members of the military, supporting reservists to go on training exercises and signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Around 15,000 people are employed by the Ministry of Defence in North Yorkshire, with about 88 per cent in uniform.
