MUSICIANS and choirs are set to perform across York city centre this weekend to raise money for a charity for homeless young people.

The Sing for SASH event, which is being held on Saturday and Sunday, is supported by professional sound equipment thanks to a £500 donation from leading digital distributor of financial services BGL Group, whose Fusion Contact Centre is based in the city.

Volunteers from Fusion will also help to collect donations during the events, with the charity hoping to raise up to £3,000 to support its work with homeless 16-25 year olds.

“We’re delighted to be able to help out with this event,” said BGL Group’s Jamie Lyons.

“SASH do wonderful work to support young people in this community – and we’re looking forward to cheering up shoppers and visitors with a dose of Christmas spirit!”
