Armed police on A64 - in training exercise
ARMED police have converged on the A64 near Tadcaster - but the public has been reassured it is just a training exercise.
A driver contacted The Press to say he had seen police officers armed with sub-machine guns, who had sealed off a bridge on the dual carriageway between Tadcaster and the A1.
However, North Yorkshire Police issued a reassurance to the public, saying officers were carrying out armed training exercises in the Tadcaster area today.
