HUNDREDS of balloons with discount vouchers attached have been launched to mark the reopening of a flood-hit restaurant.
Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill restaurant in Fossgate was inundated from the River Foss in the Boxing Day floods, and reopened for the first time on Friday.
Although the dining area escaped the worst of the flooding, the basement, office and kitchen required extensive repairs costing £150,000, which were only finished last month.
Natalie Corpe, manager, said the restaurant looked “like a bomb had gone off”, following the floods, with even the heaviest electrical appliances overturned by the huge weight of the river water.
