BUDDING Shakespearean actors from a North Yorkshire primary academy have been chosen from schools across the world to take part in a special Shakespeare event.
The Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy Year 6 children’s video of Macbeth was one of ten successful entries from 79 submitted and will feature in Shakespeare Lives in Schools Day on Friday.
The event – a special video to be shown in schools across the country – will feature a scene showing the young actors from the school.
Shakespeare Lives in Schools Day encourages schoolchildren of all ages to learn about Shakespeare as a playwright for the whole world, by joining in global celebrations of his 400th anniversary.
Andy Willson, who organised the school’s entry, said: “It’s great that our children’s efforts were recognised and will be part of a national celebration.”
