Evo-Stik League division one north: Tadcaster Albion 1 Brighouse Town 1

AFTER Josh Greening cancelled out Luke Parkin's opener, Tadcaster Albion squandered a number of excellent chances in their draw with Brighouse.

Billy Miller made two changes from the side that lost against Ossett Town in midweek, with Josh Greening back in the starting 11 along with Gregg Anderson, who returned from injury.

Early-season pacesetters Brighouse broke the deadlock after five minutes when a ball was crossed back in and headed across the area before being acrobatically fired in by Parkin.

This sparked the Brewers into life, winger Rob Youhill coming close to levelling five minutes later, letting fly from 30 yards to force Tom Taylor to make a good save to his left.

However, Taddy, equalised soon after, Youhill curling the perfect ball behind Brighouse's backline for Josh Greening to cut inside Alex Low and fire past Taylor at his near post.

Left back Josh Grant, impressive since moving from Frickley, started another attack, with Adam Baker gliding past two tangerine shirts and shooting low only for an inspired Taylor to push the ball away.

Billy Miller's men came within a whisker of taking the lead two minutes into the second half when Anderson glanced Conor Sellars' corner narrowly wide.

Brighouse almost retook the lead in the 56th minute, Stevens quickly being off his line to block Thomas Dugdale's shot.

However, it seemed a case of when and not if Albion would score as Youhill, Baker, Josh Greening and Sellars looked dangerous.

They were all involved as Youhill slotted Baker in down the right and his shot was parried by Taylor, Youhill's follow-up being belted off the line by Adam Field.

Town newcomer Devonte Morton almost capitalised on an error, Stevens recovering well to push the ball to safety.

Then Youhill's fizzing ball was on a plate but Fatlum Ibrahimi arrived a second too late, and he was inches away a minute later, shaving the bar with a brilliant left-footed effort.

Josh Greening then raced in behind Brighouse's defence before shifting the ball onto his favourite left foot, only for a bobble to thwart him.

Then Stevens was quick to react once again by blocking substitute Jack Stockdill from three yards out.

Taddy's best chance to go 2-1 in front came 11 minutes from time as substitute Liam Shepherd's terrific cross to Josh Greening was volleyed wide under pressure from four yards out.

There was one final opportunity in injury time, Baker racing through only for Taylor to hold his low shot well.
