YORK'S newest bar is complete, and is about to open.

The Botanist in Stonegate is in part of the premises formerly occupied by Mulberry Hall.

A preview evening was held on Wednesday, ahead of the official opening next Monday.

This weekend, the pub will host a wishing tree in St Helen's Square, inviting tourists and visitors to make a wish with a chance to have it come true.

Ciara Appleton Mcdaid, general manager, said: “We’re so delighted to be launching in York and the response from locals ahead of opening has already been incredible. Because of this overwhelming response, we wanted to give back and make someone’s wish come true."

The pub will also host a stall in the Shambles Market from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, November 26.

The pictures above show what you can expect.

The pub and restaurant, operated by The New World Trading Company, will cover a total of 5,000 sq ft and have 80 covers on the ground floor.
