STUDENTS at a village school south of York have been learning vital lifesaving skills
Year 7 pupils at Sherburn High School, in Sherburn-in-Elmet, near Selby, received a visit from Kippax First Responders and Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff.
They taught the students cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to mark European Restart a Heart Day.
During the course of the day, the volunteers taught more than 120 students this emergency procedure.
A spokesperson for the school said the day went well.
They said: “Students really enjoyed this practical advice.
“Sherburn High School would like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who came in to deliver the training, in particular, Jason Carlyon, resuscitation manager with Yorkshire Ambulance
Service who organised the event, it really was a fantastic day.”
