A TEAM of golfers has raised £1,100 for Guide Dogs.

Players from National Farmers Union (NFU) Mutual office in York organised the day to raise funds for their corporate charity.

The event was organised by Jane James who is an employee within the claims team and also a member of Easingwold Golf Club.

She said: “I wanted to arrange an event that would bring together the NFU Mutual team, loss adjusters and solicitors and our other business partners, whilst at the same time raising money for our charity Guide Dogs.”

Staff in York have raised enough money to fund a new Guide Dog puppy called Clifton.

He is settling into life with his volunteer puppy walker and will be visiting staff soon.

Jane added: “It’s wonderful to think that our little puppy will one day help to change someone’s life.”

Guide Dogs was voted in as the corporate charity for NFU Mutual, and colleagues across the UK have raised over £228,000 to fund one guide dog throughout its life, and more than 20 guide dogs puppies.
