A MAN wanted in connection with the theft of jewellery worth more than £5,000 from a York shop, has been arrested.
Michael Walker, 31, originally from Liverpool, was arrested by Merseyside Police on Saturday.
Walker was wanted in connection with the theft of a ring from a jewellery shop in High Ousegate on the afternoon of Friday, February 5, and an appeal to track him down was launched by North Yorkshire Police in September.
Police in Cumbria, West Yorkshire and Scotland also want to speak to Mr Walker in connection with similar.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said Walker was arrested on Saturday in Liverpool, and appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on Monday.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on November 21.
