A TOY shop has opened its doors in York just as every child is considering what to put on their wish list to Santa.
With the Christmas shopping season upon us, the timing could not have been better for the Toymaster shop, in Market Street, to meet its new customers.
Masocts Toby Toymaster and Waddle The Penguin greeted children and parents on their first day of trading inside the former Early Learning Centre shop.
James Colcough, director of Toymaster owners East Midlands Toy Company, said: “It went really well for us.
“The shop was really busy from 9am and we have two character visits which had a fantastic impact on the children.
“There was a huge amount of interest and people were saying how glad they are that a toyshop is back in York.
“We had lots of good feedback and look forward to Christmas.”
