FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a house in North Yorkshire in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Thirsk, Easingwold, Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside were called to the fire in Kilburn near Thirsk shortly after 12.25am.
They entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and put out the flames in the ground floor area of the house, using three hose reel jets.
One person was taken to hospital by road ambulance with suspected smoke inhalation and for a precautionary check-up.
Positive pressure ventilation was used in the property to clear smoke.
