YORK’S Theatre Royal and St Leonard’s Hospice are joining forces to present a Posh and Partywear charity fashion show.

The fundraiser for the Tadcaster Road hospice is part of an ongoing joint venture triggered by their historical links - the theatre sits on top of the ruins of the original St Leonard’s Hospital. It will take place on Wednesday, November 9 from 6.30pm.

The clothes will be sold afterwards, and are drawn from donations to the hospice. Retail manager Helen Moreton said: “We get some amazing clothes, hats, handbags and jewellery, which in some cases are brand new. We also get designer labels and great brands, so there will be some real bargains on offer.”

Also on show will be dresses made by fashion students at York College, upcycled from men’s suits donated to the hospice.

Tickets cost £5 from St Leonard’s Hospice shops, from the hospice reception or by calling 01904 788777.
