A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was crushed by a car in East Yorkshire.

Firefighters were called to the incident in Highfield Avenue, Driffield, shortly after 7.30pm yesterday.

They used air bags to lift the car off the man, who sustained severe crush injuries to his chest and head.

Fire crews assisted paramedics with CPR and the man was then taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

He remains in a serious condition with potentially life-threatening injuries.
