A CONTROVERSIAL star is bringing his new TV show to the county where he suffered a spectacular fall from grace.

Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson is filming his multi-million pound Amazon Prime series, The Grand Tour, in Whitby.

Clarkson, along with side kicks James May and Richard Hammond, will film in the seaside resort next month, with fans invited to apply for tickets to join them inside their studio tent.

Clarkson was infamously sacked by the BBC in March 2015 for punching producer Oisin Tymon after he failed to get him a hot meal after filming the BBC 2 series in Hawes, North Yorkshire.

The controversy saw Hammond and May swiftly follow Clarkson out of the door, along with executive producer Andy Wilman.

All four were hired by the internet streaming service and the new series is set to premiere on November 18.

The show will be presented from locations all over the world and is expected to include stunts, car reviews and a celebrity feature.

To sign up for Whitby filming tickets go to https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/splash/TGTWaitlist before 11.59pm on Friday, September 30.
