A MUSIC business which was deluged by the winter floods is preparing for its relaunch thanks to support from another firm.

Mor Music, on Franklins Yard, Fossgate, is undergoing a major re-fit after their shop was submerged in more than five feet of water after the Foss Barrier failed in December 2015.

Ben Johnson Interiors have given a helping hand by donating office furniture to Mor Music ahead of their planned re-opening within weeks.

The Two Ridings Community Foundation, which offers help and advice to those effected by flooding, put the firm in contact with Mor Music after they offered support.

Lynne and Phil O’Dea, of Mor Music, said they were delighted to accept the offer of furniture for their refurbished office.

“We went through a terrible time when our shop premises were badly flooded on Boxing Day last year – our showrooms, studios, workshop and office were submerged under 5ft of the River Foss which destroyed everything in there.

York Press:

“During the subsequent months we found many local residents and businesses helping each other out wherever they could and we were incredibly grateful to Ben Johnson Interiors for reaching out to help out another local independent business. Thank you.”
