A CHURCH clock in York has been saved after members of the local community rallied round to help keep it ticking.
Led by church member, Linda Courtney, the Holy Trinity in Heworth launched a campaign to restore the church’s turret clock, which had become dangerously corroded.
Following local publicity, including an article in The Press, local businesses, residents and church members teamed up and, with the help of various grants, they raised enough to repair it, which cost about £6,000. The clock has since been reinstalled.
