A CAR overturned after a four-vehicle crash on the A64 this morning.

The collision happened at about 10.30am on the westbound carriageway near Tadcaster. It involved a blue Ford Fiesta, which overturned, a grey Nissan X-Trail, a white Vauxhall Insignia and a white Nissan NV400 van. One of the vehicles was towing a caravan.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "There are no serious injuries but there are walking wounded."

The carriageway was reduced to one lane, which caused traffic disruption, but it reopened at 12.55pm after the vehicles had been recovered.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to North Yorkshire Police on 101 and speak to the force control room. Quote reference NYP-24092016-0164.
