TWO competition winners met their pop idol before he wowed crowds in York.
Friends Becky Farrell and Margaret Groom were invited to meet Ronan Keating after they correctly guessed St Leonard’s Hospice’s daily running costs of £13,000.
The pair were given VIP passes and taken backstage where they met Ronan, got a chance to ask him a few questions, and get some items signed, before watching the concert itself.
Ronan played to a busy Barbican, running through a mixture of old hits and new songs.
Dawn Clements, director of Fundraising at the Hospice, said: “Ronan’s manager very kindly donated a couple of tickets to the Hospice so we gave them away via a simple and fun competition, but one that highlighted the huge amount of money we need to raise on a daily basis to keep the Hospice running.”
