TWO students at a York school have beat off competition from hundreds of applicants to be awarded a prestigious engineering scholarship.
James Haynes and Harvey Lyon, who are both sixth formers at Bootham School, have both received a national Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. These scholarships support 16 to 18 year old students during the final two years of their school studies. They are awarded to only the highest-potential students across the country who show promise to be future leaders in the engineering profession. James and Harvey were selected from more than 1,400 applicants following a rigorous selection process comprising of a two-hour engineering aptitude exam and interviews.
