A FAMILY fun day raising money for York Hospital’s A & E will take place at the Ainsty on Boroughbridge Road this weekend.
The event on Saturday is being organised by Becky Adams, in memory of her daughter Oceon.
Oceon was just five-and-a-half month old when she died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and Becky decided to organise the day to help the A & E department where medics tried to save her daughter.
The event will take place this Saturday, September 10 - to commemorate what should have been Oceon’s first birthday - at the Ainsty pub from noon until 5pm.
There will be visits from Elsa and Tinkerbell, and family activities like a bouncy castle, face painting, food, a raffle, and a magician.
After Oceon died Becky launched a crowdfunding appeal to pay for a proper headstone for the little girl’s grave. She was inundated with donations, and the memorial should be in place in the cemetery within the next few weeks.
