A YORK wine cafe donated profits from its trading on Tuesday to the battle to help victims of the recent Italian earthquake.

Veeno in Piccadilly, one of eight such bars across the country, is partnering with a branch of Rotary International to deliver much-needed essentials to those affected by the devastation in Amatrice and the surrounding area.

Rotaract Rieti is working hard on the ground to supply basic necessities including first aid equipment and personal hygiene supplies to make life a little more comfortable for survivors in the aftermath of the quake.

York Press:

Nino Caruso and Andrea Zecchino, Veeno’s co-founders, said: “Even if we are far away from what happened, it really is the least we can do in order to help our home country.”

Some of the staff at Veeno in York decided to help increase the amount raised by donating their tips.
