FOUR young men are planning to climb Ben Nevis in memory of York St John University student Megan Roberts, who drowned in the River Ouse.
James McAlpin, Reece Bartle-Coates, Nick Ferguson, Billy Gardner and Jonny Lavelle, who were fellow students, are planning the climb on September 24 to raise funds for Cancer Research and Royal Life Saving Society.
“Both charities are close to our hearts and any donations will be much appreciated,” said James.
He said they also wanted to raise awareness of the Don’t Drink and Drown campaign in and around York.
