A BINGO fan from York has scooped almost £650,000 with a £6 stake in a digital bingo game.
The £648,527.13 win, achieved whilst playing at Meccabingo.com's Mega Jackpots Isle O Plenty game, is the company's biggest digital jackpot for over five years.
A Mecca spokeswoman said the lucky York player, who has been playing bingo with Mecca for ten years, didn’t realise straight away the full extent of their win.
The winner, who has not been identified, said: “I’m still in shock at winning such a huge sum of money and can’t believe it’s Mecca’s biggest digital prize for over five years!
"I want to make sure I use it wisely, so paying off the mortgage is first on my list. I’ll also be able to treat my family, buy a new car, and donate some to charity.
“I regularly play bingo online with Mecca Bingo and this is by far the biggest win I’ve ever had. It didn’t seem real when the jackpot came up, as I never expected to scoop such an enormous amount while casually playing on online."
