TOP national folk musicians will headline the York Irish Culture Night on September 29.

Talisk folk group, which won the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award, includes concertina player Mohsen Amini, who also won the 2016 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year.

The other members of the group are Hayley Keenan on fiddle and Craig Irving on guitar. They have performed together at Cambridge Folk Festival and other leading festivals and given live sessions on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio 2.

They will share the stage at the De Grey Rooms with the O’Connor Academy of Irish Dance and Irish musicians Paula Ryan, Kevin Mullowney and Des Hurley.

The evening, which is organised by the York Irish Association, will be the second York Irish Culture Night and will be hosted by Elly Fiorentini, of BBC Radio York.
