THOUSANDS of pounds has been raised for St Leonard’s Hospice during their annual golf day.

The Pike Hills Golf Club event raised £12,000 for the charity, which will go towards helping the people who need the facility the most.

Members have supported the hospice since 1988 and have held a number of events.

There were Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams taking part in the day earlier this month and played for prize vouchers to spend in the professional’s shop.

There were also other competitions around the course, including Closest to the Pin and the Longest Drive.

Dawn Clements, director of Fundraising, said: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone at Pike Hills Golf Club, not just the players who took part, but all the organisers and helpers behind the scenes whose tireless work makes this event such a great success.”
