THE flooding issues that beset North Yorkshire are coming under the spotlight this week.
A meeting to review how the risk of flooding is being tackled is to be held in York on Friday.
It will look at how flooding has affected the region and will examine the plans in place to tackle the key issues
Representatives from the Country Council, the City of York Council, the Environment Agency, the NFU, the CLA and businesses will be taking part.
They will share their current and future priorities and will receive an overview and update on the December 2015 floods from the Environment Agency, as well as looking back across earlier floods.
County council leader Carl Les said it was critical that agencies and business built ever stronger relationships to prepare for future threats.
“We know that an awful lot of excellent work is being done and that plans are already in place to protect homes over the next four years. There are always opportunities to achieve even more by working together and that is what the meeting is all about.”
