YOUNGSTERS are alleged to have made a hoax call to the fire service last night, claiming there was a fire at a holiday park.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was contacted just after 6.45pm by children who are said to have called from a phone box to report a fire at Reighton Sands Holiday Park near Filey.
A crew from Filey attended but there was no fire.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "This was a malicious call which ultimately could've prevented Filey crew from attending another incident."
