BUSINESS confidence has fallen slightly in recent months, according to West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

The business support organisation said most key performance indicators revealed a decline, even if only slight in some areas. Domestic and overseas sales both dipped in the service sector; in manufacturing overseas sales suffered but home sales were up a little. The fieldwork for the survey was done in late May and early June so does not include reactions to the EU referendum outcome.

Stephen Wright, pictured, chairman of West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “While the findings are disappointing, it’s probably not surprising as there has been increasing uncertainty in the air for most of 2016.”
