A BUSINESS which offers a distinctive approach to cloud technology has entered the Business Innovation of the Year category of The Press Business Awards.

Hosting Yorkshire was set up in 2003 (previously York Websites then York Creative) and initially aimed to offer residents the support to get their local business onto the internet by giving them in house IT support and website design, building and management.

Since then it has worked with companies across Yorkshire, and now offers a new online cloud storage system, different from the popular traditional cloud storages available.

“The new ‘Hosting Yorkshire Cloud’ offers an innovative approach to file sharing, saving and editing, allowing our clients to not only work from home with documents synced from their office computer, but also revolutionising the way files can be stored and shared with colleagues.

“The Hosting Yorkshire Cloud also offers piece of mind with up-to-date security software, as well as regular backups, so clients are safe in the knowledge their work cannot be lost.

“At Hosting Yorkshire we appreciate that many businesses across Yorkshire are no longer office based, with 9-5 working hours, and therefore require technology that gives them the freedom to allow their employees to work in multiple places on multiple devices.

“Firstly, the Hosting Yorkshire Cloud allows local businesses to access their files from any place, whether in the office, at home, in a cafe or abroad.

“While this may not seem a revolutionary or innovative idea, our Cloud also allows clients to edit their documents, which then enables the document to be stored in one place. The edits are then synced between all devices in all places. This can save time and money for businesses with outdated hard drives or memory sticks.

“The user’s work is always password/login protected for their own files. They may also have an admin user account which can allow them to personally set up other accounts for their colleagues or their customers, remove them, or edit them. All connections to the cloud are also encrypted via SSL for extra security.

“The user is also able to share any files on the Hosting Yorkshire Cloud, by having other colleague logins and accounts or accounts for their customers, or simply by email.

“The documents on the Hosting Yorkshire Cloud are backed up nightly, enabling clients to have peace of mind that their documents are safely stored.”

The company said the Hosting Yorkshire Cloud was different from other popular storage systems because customers can not only safely store their files but can edit them while on the Hosting Yorkshire Cloud and easily share them with others.

In addition, if files are edited incorrectly or accidentally deleted they can be restored from backups.
