DEVELOPERS plan to build up to 175 homes on fields in an East Yorkshire village.
Gladman Developments Ltd want to build on an eight-hectare site off Back Lane in Holme on Spalding Moor. They have requested advice from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, ahead of submitting a planning application.
Stuart Carvel, senior planner for Gladman, said in a letter to the council that the site was already bounded by housing to the north and west, along Back Lane and Baileywood Lane, and said the new housing would be similar to that nearby.
He said the land was currently in pastoral use and some buildings would need to be demolished before the development could begin.
A play area is also proposed, as part of the development.
Mr Carvel said the site was not an environmentally-sensitive one, and said it was within walking distance of a range of services, and several bus stops.
Access to the site would be from Back Lane and Baileywood Lane.
