THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised at a fundraising dinner for a York-based charity which supports disabled children and young people.

Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York (SNAPPY), which has offices in Lowther Street, will receive £6,000 from the dinner, as will The Prince’s Trust.

Hosted by RBS Invoice Finance, more than 200 people attended the event, held at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.

Anne Stamp, fundraising manager at SNAPPY, said: “Without the support of events like this we simply wouldn’t be able to provide the necessary funds to help young children with special needs to personally develop and play in a safe and secure environment.”
