PUPILS at a York school spent a day learning about Spain in the run-up to the end of term.
The children at Woodthorpe primary took part in the Spanish day which saw them dress in traditional Spanish costume and colours.
Lisa Dewhurst, from the school, said the event was part of a series of similar days which the school holds to help children learn more about the world. She said: “It’s a celebration of all things Spanish.
“We were tasting Spanish food, and the children were dressed up in red and yellow, and finding out more about the country, including where it is on the map.”
In recent weeks, pupils at the school have also spent a day dressed as pirates, going on a treasure hunt and creating pirate-themed artwork ahead of the Year Six play Pirates Of The Curry Bean, which also ran last week.
