SADLY, I read the story about York City Knights’ demise (The Press, July 22).
If the worst case scenario comes to pass then questions must be answered as to how a rugby team enjoying a successful season has folded. The stadium fiasco is seven years behind schedule and there is no sign of a brick being laid.
The Knights were evicted from their ground at Monks Cross at the end of 2014, leaving the club homeless while the ground was left to rot for over 12 months. Obstacles have prevented the Knights from training and playing in the city before “allowing” them to groundshare.
