FAMILIES in the East Riding are being urged to apply early for school transport passes – to increase their chances of getting a seat for their child.
For school and sixth form students who are not entitled to free school transport, parents can apply and go on a waiting list to buy a travel pass from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Any spare seats will be given out on a priority basis, and applications received after July will be given passes on a first come, first served basis.
Information is online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/schoolstransport
Travel passes will be allocated from August 1. Those waiting for exam results should still fill in the forms, as applications can be easily withdrawn later.
