A FATHER is overjoyed after getting his stolen scooter back, following an appeal for help in The Press.
We reported how Neal Harvey, of Huntington Road, who bought his Vespa 125 LX two years ago to help him get to work at a York hotel, was devastated after he woke up to find it had been stolen from his outhouse by a thief who smashed the door.

The Wheatlands Lodge chef was having to make the two-mile journey on foot.
Now he has contacted the newspaper to say he had got the scooter back after a member of the public called the police to say it had been left at the Well Living Church in Huntington Road.

"It's great news," he said.

"There's a few scratches but I'll sort that. Until now, there's been no arrest but your story put it out there. Many thanks."
