A CAT was shot and injured with an airgun in York earlier this week.
The animal was hurt on Wellesley Close near Rawcliffe and Clifton Moor on Monday evening. A vet who examined the cat said it appeared to have been shot with an air pellet.
It is the latest in a string of such attacks. Two cats were shot in the Huntington Road area in May, another was killed when it was repeatedly shot with an air rifle in Scagglethorpe in April, and another was blinded in one eye in Market Weighton in February.
Police ask anyone with information on the latest attack to phone 101, quoting reference NYP-06072016-0334.
