YORK’S market space will be transformed into an open-air eatery on Thursday.
Shambles Market Tavern and Rudgate Brewery have teamed up to host Street Feast, a hog roast and drinks evening which will start at 6.30pm.
The event will feature live music by popular York musician Rachel Croft. It is free to attend, and food and drink will be available to purchase.
A selection of soft drinks, wine, cider and a range of Rudgate Brewery’s ales will be available at the Tavern, and a hog roast will be provided by Greenwoods Butchers.
Seating will be available around the stalls, which will have been converted into tables just for the event. Standing room will also be available for those who just want to mill around and chat with fellow ‘feasters’.
Keith McLean, owner of Shambles Market Tavern, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the daily life of the Shambles Market, and see this event as an exciting development to further improve a vital part of the city centre.”
