GOLFERS from across York are being invited to 'putt' their game to the test and take part in a charity golf day at Fulford Golf Club.

The annual event on Monday August 29 will raise money for the Club Captain’s charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, and also for the Lord Mayor’s charities, York LGBT Forum, York Racial Equality Network, St Nicks and York Civic Trust.

Golfers will play a four ball ‘Stableford’ competition, with teams of four invited to enter at a cost of £140 per team, including a round of golf and coffee and a bacon sandwich before teeing off.

The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Dave Taylor, thanked the club for its support and said he hoped to see as many people there as possible to raise as much money as possible for the worthy causes.

"It is a great course the Lady Mayoress knows well and enjoys playing, being a member there, and I hope many more sign up and enjoy the day," he added.

He thanked the main sponsors, Ray Chapman Motors, and the golf club for their support, and said he hoped to see as many people at the event as possible to raise as much money as possible for the worthy causes.

Bookings for the event can be made by emailing civicenquiries@york.gov.uk, or calling the Civic office on 01904 551011.
