A man has denied a charge of manslaughter connected to an incident in J T Mellanby's in Finkle Street, Selby, on April 1, 2014.
Bret Thorpe, 26, now of Spring Bank, Scarborough, was charged following the death on April 16, 2015, of Robert David Walker, who was in his fifties and came from the Selby area.
The deceased man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary on April 1, 2014, in a critical condition with serious injuries that he received in the Selby bar.
Thorpe denied manslaughter at Leeds Crown Court, which heard that he does not accept that his actions caused the death.
His trial was listed for January 16 next year at the same court and he was released on unconditional bail.
