Former York Univeristy Challenge contestant charged with rape
A FORMER University of York student will stand trial accused of rape.
Bartolomeo Cuthbert Joly de Lotbiniere, 21, now of Bolton Gardens in London, appeared before York Crown Court on Thursday.
Joly de Lotbiniere represented the university on the BBC's University Challenge in 2015, and studied history.
He denied one count of attempted sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of rape, all of which relate to the same individual and all allegedly happened in June 2014.
A trial is due to take place in February next year.
