CHILDREN from two York schools got together for a special "singing picnic" in the sun.
The weather was kind to children and teachers from the reception classes at Park Grove Primary and Haxby Road Primary, when they joined up to share songs and a picnic on Monday.
The children sang together and played games, led by Ruth McCartney, took it in turns to sing a song they had learnt, and imagined travelling on a train together to reach their picnic destination.
Teachers and helpers said they were impressed with the children's behaviour, and would love to spend time together in the sun again soon.
