STUDENTS at York College have showcased their work in an impressive end of year fashion show.
Fashion students presented their creations on the catwalk at York Racecourse as a finale to their BA (Hons) Fashion Design & Production and Extended Diploma in Fashion & Clothing courses.
Individual collections by final year degree students included inspirations from themes such as the American dream, Japanese geisha, Auschwitz concentration camp, modern sexism, the effect of human activity on the environment and civil unrest.
Marie Neal-Smith, fashion tutor at York College, said: “Collections have been inspired by broad ranging themes this year, many of them carrying messages which reflect the happenings in our society. Fabrics and silhouettes are diverse, creative and often unconventional in the combinations they are presented in."
