EMERGENCY services were called to a bridge in York on Saturday.
North Yorkshire Police said they were called to Clifton Bridge at Water End at about 7.20am, to reports of a man who had climbed onto the wrong side of the bridge.
A member of the public reported the concern for safety, and police, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were sent to the scene, where the bridge was cordoned off for more than an hour.
A police spokeswoman said the man was brought to safety and taken to a place of safety before the road was reopened at about 8.40am.
