AN ALCOHOLIC is awaiting sentence at York Crown Court after admitting intimidating a witness.
Carl O'Connor was due to stand trial for the offence on Wednesday, but changed his plea to guilty.
The 26-year-old, of New Millgate, Selby admitted threatening to rape the woman in the town on June 15 last year.
O'Connor, who the court heard was an alcoholic and had been homeless, saw his case adjourned to May 31 for pre-sentence reports.
His bail conditions mean he must live at the New Millgate and not contact the woman or her husband.
Recorder Alistair Macdonald QC told O'Connor: "It's very much in your interest that the court knows all about you before you're sentenced."
