YORK Art Gallery will celebrate ceramics next month with a special day of demonstrations, talks and the opportunity to get hands-on alongside professional potters.
The Day of Clay will include activities with professional ceramicists Emily Stubbs and Rebecca Appleby, artist Chris Beale and a talk by The Great Pottery Throw Down winner Matthew Wilcock.
There will also be a range of hands-on activities and demonstrations including a 3D ceramic printing demonstration at the event on Saturday, May 14.
Fiona Green, collections facilitator at York Art Gallery, said: “Day of Clay is going to be a fantastic celebration of ceramics across the whole gallery, showcasing the skills, innovation and beauty behind the oldest art form in the world. "Whether it be demonstrations, talks, stalls or hands-on activities; this is a great day for both professionals and novices to enjoy with a programme of activities on offer for all interests and ages.”
The event is free and there is no need to book but gallery admission applies.
