THREE long-serving former city councillors have been made Honorary Aldermen of York.
Brian Watson, Ken King, and David Horton were given the honour at a special ceremony.
The three men had each served more than 20 years as councillors in York.
The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Sonja Crisp, said: “Serving the city for such a length of time is an amazing achievement.
"It is important that as a city we continue to recognise those who have worked to support residents and represented the city as Lord Mayors and thank them for their hard work over the course of more than 20 years. I’m honoured to be officiating the ceremony to commend the three former councillors."
The three new Honorary Aldermen were joined at their ceremony by existing Aldermen David Wilde and Keith Wood.
