HOTEL staff are celebrating after guests voted their venue one of the UK's best.
The Mount Royale Hotel, in York, has been recognised as the winner of the UK’s very best Historic Hotels, based on visitor reviews over the last 12 months in LateRooms.com's 2016 Simply the Guest Awards.
The annual awards, held for the last four years by booking company LateRooms.com, use guest reviews and ratings published on the site to recognise and reward the highest standards in the hotel industry across a number of categories.
Stuart Oxtoby, managing director of the Mount Royale Hotel, said: "This is very exciting.
"These awards are all based on a guest's recommendation which is really nice.
"The customers who come to stay know we are doing a great job and it's recognition for all the staff and their hard work."
Andrea Tarpey, a spokeswoman for LateRooms.com, said: “Being named as a Simply The Guest Awards finalist places the Mount Royale Hotel firmly amongst the nation’s best loved Historic hotels. It’s an achievement that’s testament to the team’s absolute dedication to guest satisfaction over the past year."
